Lebron and the Cavs dominates on Christmas day!
Boos rained down. Fans tossed foam fingers and water bottles onto the court.
With four minutes remaining in the game, Laker fans seemingly lost their composure. For much of the game, the Lakers did too.
Five technical fouls were handed out in the game, four assessed to the Lakers including two given to Lamar Odom, who was ejected in the final minutes of the game.
Not much went right for the Lakers as the Cavaliers had a stellar outing, stunning the defending champs, 102-87, on Christmas Day at Staples Center.
"It was a very testy game for both teams," said Cavaliers forward LeBron James, who had 26 points on 9-for-19 shooting and nine assists. "Both teams were very physical and that's the way it has to be."
While the Cavaliers (23-8) downplayed the importance of sending a message to the Lakers, James said the game had a different meaning.
"It was about sending a message to ourselves," he said. "It shows us this is who we should be. That's the measuring stick."
With the loss, the Lakers (23-5) are now tied with Boston, who beat Orlando on Friday, for the best record in the NBA. The Lakers had their 5-game win streak and 11-game home winning streak snapped as they head to Sacramento on a back-to-back Saturday.
Heading into this matchup, the Lakers said their last Christmas Day matchup against Boston was a statement game and an accurate barometer of where they were in the season. This game became one too.
"It's a good wake-up call for us," said Bryant, who had a game-high 35 points.
"That was not a very nice way to spend Christmas Day," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said.
In the win, Cleveland guard Mo Williams recorded a team-high 28 points and four assists. Forward Jamario Moon, who had 16 points on 6-for-7 shooting, had a big game off the bench.
"Defensively, Moon and Anthony Parker did an unbelievable job on Bryant," James said. "One thing we tried to do was build a wall. Build a wall around him and let him see multiple faces."
That wall collapsed on Bryant.
Bryant was 11-for-32 shooting, including 5-for-16 in the second half. To his credit, he did have nine rebounds, eight assists, and was a perfect 12-for-12 from the line. Despite tempers flaring and the game being physical, the Cavaliers remained poised, even after fans threw objects on to the floor.
"They did a nice job of being resilient no matter what the atmosphere," Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said.
Bryant on the way the fans reacted: "You don't ever want to see that happen."
The Cavaliers have now won eight of their last nine and showed every bit of the championship-caliber team they can be.
They were poised. They dictated the pace of the game. They weathered the Lakers' runs.
They played suffocating defense, and maybe, most importantly, they were more physical.
In the opening minutes Cleveland center Shaquille O'Neal, who had 11 points and seven rebounds, knocked Pau Gasol to the floor. After that play, the Lakers frontcourt seemingly was never the same.
"He definitely had a presence in the game," Jackson said of O'Neal. "I do know that he was a factor on Kobe."
For the first time this season, the Lakers' frontcourt was neutralized. Clevelands trio of big men, O'Neal, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Anderson Varejao, combined for 22 points on 10-for-19 shooting and 25 rebounds. Together, the Lakers' duo of Gasol and Andrew Bynum tallied 15 points on 6-for-16 shooting and 12 rebounds. Even though the Cavaliers recorded 19 turnovers and gave up 25 second-chance points it was their blistering 54.3 percent shooting for the game that helped them build a 21-point lead.
The Lakers, who made only 36.5 percent from the field, had only two pushes in them after falling behind by double digits.
One came at the end of the second quarter when Los Angeles used a full court press to go on a 12-2 run, cutting Cleveland's lead to 51-42 at halftime. The second was in the third quarter when the Lakers trimmed it to 54-48 with 9:57 left in the third quarter. Cleveland, however, answered back with a 7-0 spurt, one that the Lakers could never recover from.
The defending champions wound up bickering with the referees for the rest of the game.
"You see what's going on there," said Moon of the Lakers lost composure. "We knew if we stayed aggressive and we knew we could frustrate them a little bit. "
The Cavaliers built their large lead because of their second unit at the start of the second quarter. Cleveland went on a 12-2 run and an 8-0 run with Delonte West, Varejao and Williams coming up big combining for 17 points - while James sat out the first 5:12 of the period.
Once James checked in, he made his presence. James immediately picked off a Derek Fisher pass and found Moon for a vicious one-handed dunk. James then found Ilgauskas for an open 16-foot right baseline jumper to give the Cavaliers a 44-25 lead, prompting a Laker timeout.
"It was their style of play," Fisher said. "We had a tough time really feeling them out (and) how they were going to attack us."
With the victory, James holds a 7-5 advantage head-to-head against Bryant, who is now a career 5-7 in Christmas Day games.

Cavs stops Suns winning streak
Every 284 days or so, the Suns lose a home game.
Then again, they only play LeBron James once a season in Arizona.
James and the Cavaliers pulled away late and pounded the Suns, 109-91, Monday night, breaking the Suns' 19-game home win streak.
The Suns are now 10-1 at home this season. They hadn't lost in Arizona since March 12, with more than a month left in last season.
The team that beat them then? The same Cavaliers.
LeBron James wasn't spectacular, at least not by his standards. He shot 11-for-21 for 29 points (he averages 28.6).
But he scored on everything from spectacular slams to perimeter shots, and coach Mike Brown lauded him for directing the offense, moving the ball from side to side, setting screens and rolling to the basket.
"When he does that, we're hard to beat," Brown said.
James said, "I'm always in attack mode. Whatever the defense gives me, I'm going to take."
The Suns' strategy was to single-cover James as much as possible, with Grant Hill taking the lead.
The object: to limit the Cavs' 3-point game, which is No. 2 in the in the league (the Suns are No. 1).
They also had Amar'e Stoudemire cover Shaquille O'Neal to try to lessen foul problems for Channing Frye, so that the perimeter-shooting Frye could stay in the game and loosen up the Cavs' defense.
Coach Alvin Gentry preached over and over before the game that the Suns couldn't afford turnovers against the Cavs, who also whipped them in Cleveland on Dec. 2.
Yet they ended up with 18 turnovers, which led to 30 Cavs' points.
"If you turn the ball over against them, you're probably going to pay," Gentry said.
Poor 3-point shooting was a culprit as well. The Suns shot just 4-for-19 from distance; their season percentage is 43. The Cavs, at 5-for-12, were much more efficient.
Steve Nash had 18 points and 10 assists for the Suns (18-10).
The Suns, clearly hurting from the ankle injury suffered last month by Leandro Barbosa, at times struggled with their reserves in the game.
Barbosa, for years one of the game's most prolific scorers off the bench, has now missed 11 straight games (the Suns are 4-7).
Before this, they were 14-3.
Barbosa could return by Friday.
The Suns also didn't get the required big game from Amar'e Stoudemire, who finished with 14 points, 12 boards and six turnovers.
With the Suns trailing 96-87 midway through the final quarter, Stoudemire missed a layup, then had a follow shot blocked by Anderson Varejao.
The frustrated Stoudemire then drew a technical foul.
James wrapped it up a few moments later with a 3-pointer and then a layup that gave the Cavs a decisive 105-86 lead.
The game marked the return of Shaquille O'Neal, who had played the previous season-and-a-half in Phoenix.
Shaq drew a mostly indifferent reaction from Suns' fans, scattered applause mixed in with a few boos.
Then those fans saw why their team probably is better off without him.
Stoudemire, who idolized Shaq growing up in Florida, fired in 10 quick points by shooting over him.
At the other end, Shaq drew two quick fouls then headed to the bench.
He was replaced by Varejao, who ended up being the game's most effective inside player (13 points, four rebounds, zero turnovers).
Coach Mike Brown said he is learning how to use the big fellow. At the same time, Brown said he'll play him in moderation so that the Cavs' long-term interests are protected.
"I need to make sure I don't overplay him," said Brown. "If I keep him around 22 or 24 minutes a night, I think I'm doing my job...even if it means sacrificing some points here and there.
"It's a goal to make sure he's healthy and ready to go at the end of the season."
Of course, "There may be times he plays more than that. There may be times in the playoffs where he plays more than that."
The bottom line: "My goal is to grow and learn with him but not to overuse him in the regular season."
O'Neal ended up with three points, five rebounds and four turnovers in 19 minutes.
He's Just Not Into You
This movie is cool, I enjoy more than my fair share of chick flicks, but He's Just Not That Into You won't be on my favorites list anytime soon. The cast is very impressive, and they all do a good job with their parts. The film was just a giant dull soap opera with drama here and drama there, as they all end up in each other's lives one way or another. The film also wasn't very funny, and while there's a lot people can relate with in the film, it doesn't make it any better.
Based on the wildly popular bestseller from Sex and the City scribes Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, He's Just Not That Into You tells the stories of a group of interconnected, Baltimore-based...
Gigi just wants a man who says he'll call--and does--while Alex advises her to stop sitting by the phone. Beth wonders if she should call it off after years of committed singlehood with her boyfriend, Neil, but he doesn't think there's a single thing wrong with their unmarried life. Janine's not sure if she can trust her husband, Ben, who can't quite trust himself around Anna. Anna can't decide between the sexy married guy, or her straightforward, no-sparks standby, Conor, who can't get over the fact that he can't have her. And Mary, who's found an entire network of loving, supportive men, just needs to find one who's straight.
If you've ever sat by the phone wondering why he said he would call, but didn't, or if you can't figure out why she doesn't want to sleep with you anymore, or why your relationship just isn't going to the next level... he (or she) is just not that into you.

“Porn” and “Sex” are Top Searches for Even 7 Year Old Kids (haha!)
A new Kiwi study has revealed that kids as young as 7 are searching for sex online.
Anti-virus giant Symantec has released a list of popular search terms used by teens and children. The list shows that searches for “porn” and “sex” have become quite common.
According to stuff.co.nz, kids show a lot of interest in websites like YouTube, Facebook and Google, the search for adult material is also high.
The study revealed that girls were less interested in searching for adult material than boys. “Sex” and “porn” both are in the top 10 list of searched made by boys.
When it comes to celebrities, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne were in the popular searches’ list.

Twitter hacked by 'Iranian Cyber Army'
Popular microblogging site Twitter was briefly shut down overnight, its home page replaced with an image claiming the site had been hacked by the "Iranian Cyber Army."
The website's official blog acknowledged the disruption but gave no details as to how the site had been disrupted and who was responsible.
"Last night, DNS settings for the Twitter Web site were hijacked," the site's co-founder Biz Stone wrote Friday on the blog.
DNS stands for Domain Name System, an Internet protocol used to translate online addresses from long strings of numbers into simple "urls" such as www.twitter.com.
Hackers hijacked the settings for Twitter's website, rerouting about 80 percent of its traffic to another page from shortly before 0600 GMT until 0700 GMT, according to Stone.
"The motive for this attack appears to have been focused on defacing our site, not aimed at users," Stone wrote. "We don't believe any accounts were compromised."
Visitors were redirected from Twitter to a page with an image of a green flag under red text reading "Iranian Cyber Army" and "This site has been hacked by Iranian Cyber Army."
Screengrabs posted on Flickr clearly showed additional text below the image in English.
"U.S.A. Think They Controlling And Managing Internet By Their Access, But They Don't, We Control And Manage Internet By Our Power, So Do Not Try To Stimulation Iranian Peoples To," the text said in broken English.
"NOW WHICH COUNTRY IN EMBARGO LIST? IRAN? USA? WE PUSH THEM IN EMBARGO LIST. Take Care," it read.
Technology blog TechCrunch reported that the disruption also affected Google searches for Twitter.
It posted a screengrab showing that searches for a time returned a result reading "This Web Site Has Been Hacked by Iranian Cyber Army," above Farsi script.
"As an Iranian, in response to mischievous interference of this service provider at the order of US officials to meddle in our country's domestic affairs, this site is being hacked as a warning," the Farsi read, translated by AFP.
The hacker claimed to be in Iran, but people "tweeting" about the attack on Friday expressed skepticism.
Iranian demonstrators protesting the results of June presidential elections used Twitter extensively, both to organize marches and to release information about their movement.
The use of Web technology amid the Iran protests was closely watched in Washington, where a State Department official asked Twitter to postpone a planned maintenance shutdown by a day to allow Iranians to speak out and organize.
Their use of the microblogging site led some to dub the pro-democracy action against President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a "Twitter revolution" and made the Iranian election one of the top "trends" on the site this year.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier this month told the United States to use Twitter and other social networking sites to fight against the leadership of arch-enemy Iran.
"Iran prevents people from freely accessing the Internet," a senior official quoted Netanyahu telling parliament's foreign affairs and defense committee.
"Using the Internet and Twitter against the Iranian regime is something extraordinary that the United States can do," he said.
The microblogging sensation was back in action on Friday and apparently taking the attack in stride.
"Late night, early morning, big day, and a party to go to after work," Stone tweeted on Friday.

A Decade in Technology
As 2009 comes to a close, it's time to take a look back at the decade that was. It’s hard to believe what the tech scene looked like 10 years ago, but here's a hint: Imagine a world without the iPod (much less the iPhone), without Facebook, without wireless data, and when Windows 98 was considered state of the art. Don’t be afraid — things have improved immeasurably in the last 10 years. See my top picks of the most important innovations and high-tech happenings of the decade here.
Apple iPod (2001 - ) Hard to believe the ubiquitous iPod isn't even 10 years old. It paved the way for the digital music revolution and, of course, the groundbreaking iPhone.
Napster (2001 - ) The service that launched a thousand lawsuits hit its stride in 2000 and came to its abrupt demise (as we know it) in July 2001.
Segway (2001 - ) The two-wheeler didn't revolutionize transportation as its creator promised, but my head still turns when a Segwayer sways by.
Grand Theft Auto III (2001 - ) One of the most groundbreaking games of the decade, it opened up the world to players to do whatever they wanted in a "sandbox" city where anything goes.
Love Bug and Code Red viruses (2001-2003) The early 2000s saw history's most devastating computer viruses, with billions of dollars in damages caused. Thank goodness computer security has (generally) improved since then.
Windows XP (2001 - ) XP got its start in October 2001, and originally earned lackluster reviews. Over time it proved itself and became one of Microsoft's most successful products.
Wi-Fi (2002 - ) It’s hard to believe Wi-Fi, which is now literally everywhere, got its real start only seven years ago. Wireless ushered in the age of the laptop and the smart phone craze that followed.
PC price crash (2002 - ) Formerly a luxury product that a user would keep for years, PC prices spiraled down starting in 2002 as they turned into simple commodities, taking many a computer vendor down with them.
Spam (2002- ) Spam got its start back in 1994, but it wasn't until about 2002 that it became a real nuisance for the average user. Today spam makes up the vast majority of all email, with no sign of stopping.
MySpace (2003 - ) The site that killed Friendster and gave us Dane Cook.
RIAA lawsuits (2003-2008) Unable to stop the growth of illegal file sharing, the music industry tried something either brave or insane: Sue the sharers directly. To date nearly 30,000 individuals have been sued by the RIAA.
Blogging (2004 - ) Blogging got its real start as a form of online diary in 2004, and then things exploded, with the easy-reading blog format soon devouring all manner of media. The blog has now claimed many a newspaper as its victim.
Firefox (2004 - ) At one time, Microsoft had won the browser wars, and then came Firefox, Internet Explorer's first credible challenger since the Netscape era. Firefox now commands a roughly 25% market share.
Facebook (2004 - ) The site that killed MySpace and gave us the "Like" button.
Xbox 360 (2005 - ) Ushering in the current generation of video game consoles, the Xbox 360 has endured as the gamer's console of choice, despite legendary quality problems and its uncoolness from being a Microsoft product.
Guitar Hero (2005 - ) A video game with a phony guitar as a controller? Sounds corny, but gamers lapped it up, breathing new life into video games and opening up the industry to a whole new category of players. Rhythm games even got The Beatles to free their catalog, unthinkable for a band that's not even on iTunes.
YouTube (2005 - ) Who knew people really wanted to waste all day staring at tiny videos on the Web watching people fall down stairs and dance funny?
HD DVD vs. Blu-ray (2006 - ) The only good format war of the decade, Blu-ray won the battle for high-definition video formats ... but four years later it's still a niche technology.
Sony battery recall (2006 - ) When laptops started melting and exploding on desks, Sony ultimately took the blame: Its batteries were short circuiting and overheating out of control. Millions of battery packs were ultimately recalled.
Nintendo Wii (2006 - ) The "it" gaming console of the decade, suitable for everyone from 8 to 80. Nintendo proved that lousy graphics were irrelevant as long as you made up for it with truly innovative gameplay.
Intel Core CPU (2006 - ) Intel had had its lunch eaten by rival AMD ... until the mighty Intel finally struck back with the Core, a powerful processor that instantly bested AMD's top chips — and, in a shrewd decision, worked well with laptops, where AMD had long been weak. Intel has owned the chip market ever since.
Flat-panel TV boom (2006 - ) Farewell to enormous, heavy and ugly CRTs, hello to plasmas and LCDs. As prices have fallen, flat-panel televisions have become the industry standard to the point where you can't find a non-widescreen TV for sale any more. Good riddance.
Windows Vista (2007 - )The debacle of an operating system met with little but jeers: Microsoft hustled out its successor, Windows 7 in record time, in order to address Vista's many flaws. Vista is now little more than a high-tech punchline.
Amazon Kindle (2007 - ) The e-book arrives, thanks to Amazon's cute handheld, which offers weeks of reading time on a single charge.
Netbooks (2007 - ) The computer price war finally hits laptops, with the advent of extremely cheap, super-small notebooks intended for use as a secondary machine. They remain the hottest segment of the computer market today.
Apple iPhone (original) (2007 - ) Early skeptics were converted to the iPhone awfully quickly. Now, every major phone manufacturer is playing catch-up to Apple's "Jesus phone." Some analysts think at this point Apple has a two-year tech lead over the competition.
Microsoft + Yahoo! drama (2008 - ) It was all anyone talked about in 2008: Would Microsoft buy Yahoo! in what would have been the most landmark tech merger of the decade? It almost happened, but it all collapsed in the end, bringing with it Carol Bartz as Yahoo!'s new CEO.
Bill Gates retires (2008 - ) The end of an era as the man most responsible for the rise of the personal computer finally turns his eye to philanthropy full time.
Conficker worm (2009 - ) Called the most sophisticated piece of computer malware ever written, Conficker caused high-tech panic but, thanks to a huge outpouring of response by the security community, ultimately did little damage (though it continues to infect computers).
Windows 7 (2009 - ) Closing out the decade with Microsoft's third major operating system release, Windows 7 is a well-received piece of software that finally re-solidifies Microsoft's legacy as an innovator ... but is it too late? Ask me again in 2019.

Thousands of Filipino's warned to flee Philippine volcano zone
Several thousand villagers in the firing line of the Philippines' rumbling Mount Mayon volcano risk forcible evacuation unless they leave the danger zone, officials said Monday.
Scientists warned that powerful booms emanating from the Southeast Asian country's most active volcano were an indication that a massive eruption may be imminent.
The eerie glow of crimson lava could be seen oozing from the volcano overnight, and relief officials said farmers and other residents who have refused to evacuate also faced the danger of volcanic ashflow.
"We will personally remove the residents who refuse to evacuate to their designated evacuation centres," Albay provincial Governor Joey Salceda said after volcanologists raised the alert level to four on a five-point scale.
Giving new figures, Salceda said that roughly 1,300 families were still in their homes within an eight-kilometre (five-mile) danger zone declared around Mayon. As a rule of thumb, officials said each family averages five people.
About 8,600 families have already taken shelter in government centres beyond the zone mandated around the 2,460 metre (8,070 foot) volcano.
The hold-outs include many villagers who do not want to leave their farms and livestock behind, officials said.
But scientists underlined the growing threat of ash and lava cascading down Mayon's slopes owing to the increasing frequency of booms from inside the volcano, audible as far as 12 kilometres away.
"We cannot say exactly when the hazardous eruption is likely to occur," chief government volcanologist Renato Solidum said in a television interview.
But he stressed: "The important thing is the distance from the volcano. That is why it is important that people not be inside the danger zone."
When Mayon last erupted in 2006, it oozed lava and vented steam for months. No one was killed by the eruption itself.
But three months later, a powerful typhoon dislodged tons of volcanic debris that had collected on Mayon's slopes. The avalanche of mud and boulders crushed entire villages, leaving more than 1,000 people dead.
Mayon, renowned for its near-perfect cone, has erupted 48 times in recorded history. In 1814, more than 1,200 people were killed as lava buried the town of Cagsawa.

Brittany Murphy dies in LA at age 32
Brittany Murphy, the actress who got her start in the sleeper hit "Clueless" and rose to stardom in "8 Mile" before her movie roles declined in recent years, died Sunday in Los Angeles of what appeared to be natural causes, a Los Angeles County coroner's official said. She was 32.
Murphy was pronounced dead at 10:04 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Sally Stewart said.
Murphy was transported to the hospital after the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call at 8 a.m. at the home she shared with her husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, in the Hollywood Hills.
Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said Murphy apparently collapsed in the bathroom, and authorities were looking into her medical history.
An official cause of death may not be determined for some time, since toxicology tests will be required, but "it appears to be natural," Winter said. He said an autopsy was planned for Monday or Tuesday.
Winter said Murphy's family was cooperating with the coroner's investigation. Funeral arrangements have not been announced, he said.
Los Angeles police have opened an investigation into Murphy's death, Officer Norma Eisenman said. Detectives and coroner's officials were at Murphy and Monjack's home Sunday afternoon but did not talk to reporters. Paparazzi were camped outside the multistory home, located above the Sunset Strip.
Messages left for Murphy's manager and agent by The Associated Press were not immediately returned.
Neighbor Clare Staples said she saw firefighters working to resuscitate the actress Sunday morning. She said Murphy was on a stretcher and "looked as though she was dead at the scene."
Murphy's husband, wearing pajama bottoms and no shoes, appeared "dazed" as firefighters tried to save her, Staples said. "It's just tragic," she added.
TMZ.com first reported Murphy's death Sunday morning.
Murphy's father, Angelo Bertolotti, said he learned of her death from his son, the actress's brother, and was stunned.
"She was just an absolute doll since she was born," Bertolotti said from his Branford, Fla., home. "Her personality was always outward. Everybody loved her — people that made movies with her, people on a cruise — they all loved her. She was just a regular gal."
He said he hadn't heard much about the circumstances of Murphy's death. Bertolotti divorced her mother when Murphy was young and hadn't seen Murphy in the past few years. He said he used to be in the mob and served prison time on federal drug charges.
"She was just talented," Bertolotti said. "And I loved her very much."
Meanwhile, Murphy's publicist, Nicole Perna, said in a statement: "In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy."
Born Nov. 10, 1977, in Atlanta, Murphy grew up in New Jersey and later moved with her mother to Los Angeles to pursue acting.
Her career started in the early 1990s with small roles in television series, commercials and movies. She is best known for parts in "Girl, Interrupted," "Clueless" and "8 Mile."
Her on-screen work had lessened of late, but Murphy's voice gave life to numerous animated characters, including Luanne Platter on more than 200 episodes of Fox's "King of the Hill" and Gloria the penguin in the 2006 feature "Happy Feet."
She is due to appear in Sylvester Stallone's upcoming film, "The Expendables," set for release next year.
Her role in "8 Mile" led to more recognition, Murphy told AP in 2003. "That changed a lot," she said. "That was the difference between people knowing my first and last name as opposed to not."
Murphy credited her mother, Sharon, with being a key to her success.
"When I asked my mom to move to California, she sold everything and moved out here for me," Murphy said. "I was really grateful to have grown up in an environment that was conducive to creating and didn't stifle any of that. She always believed in me."
She dated Ashton Kutcher, who costarred with Murphy in 2003's romantic comedy "Just Married."
Kutcher sent a message on Twitter Sunday morning about Murphy's death: "2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine," Kutcher wrote. "My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany's family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon."

Lebron leads Cavs to come-from-behind win over Sixers
From the moment LeBron James arrives at the arena, he goes through his arduous routine.
That routine begins with a pregame stretch and workout and continues through the game. And it occurs every game, which has transformed James into the superstar player he has become.
There were several plays which defined James' work ethic and desire to win in the Cleveland Cavaliers' 108-101 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers Wednesday night before a near-sellout crowd of 19,517 at the Wachovia Center.
With the Cavaliers trailing 94-90 midway through the fourth quarter, James responded with a 3-pointer.
Then with the Sixers leading 96-93, James tracked down a loose ball in the corner and drained another huge 3-pointer to tie the game at 96. This particular play seemed to energize the Cavaliers as they surged to a seven-point victory and improved to 19-7.
"I'll do whatever it takes for our team to win," said James, who scored a game-high 36 points to go along with seven assists and six rebounds. "My teammates know this. I'll dive on the floor and do whatever I need to do to help us get a win."
Cleveland defeated the New Jersey Nets, 99-89, on Tuesday and still mustered more than enough energy to win the next night on the road.
Mo Williams scored 12 points, including five straight with a jumper and a 3-pointer to snap the 96-all tie and give the Cavaliers a five-point lead with 2:41 remaining.
"I felt really good down the stretch," Williams said. "We played 10 guys and the coaches do a great job of rotating. I had good legs at the end and I was able to make a couple of big shots."
The Cavaliers made a number of big shots, especially with a 9-for-15 performance from 3-point territory.
This has been a major problem for the Sixers all season -- defending the perimeter.
"We did not make a big shot," Sixers coach Eddie Jordan said. "They made two, maybe three, big shots."
Despite a left rib contusion, the Sixers received a stellar effort from Andre Iguodala with 26 points. Thaddeus Young picked up his third straight double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds while Allen Iverson added 16 points.
After snapping a 12-game losing streak with a win over the Golden State Warriors on Monday, the Sixers were unable to build on that momentum.
"I'm not in it for moral victories," said Iverson, who will have an MRI on his left knee on Thursday.
Speaking of injuries, the Sixers did get a boost with the return of Marreese Speights. The second-year forward hadn't played since Nov. 14 because of a left MCL sprain.
Speights was very effective in his first game back with 14 points in 22 minutes.
"I wasn't sure I'd be playing," Speights said. "I've been feeling better and I've been practicing hard. I felt good. I was a little too amped up."
The Sixers have dropped six in a row to Cleveland at the Wachovia Center dating back to Feb. 22, 2006.
In those games, there is likely a play from James much like the one which helped turn this game around for the Cavaliers.
"I thought late in the game when we were down, LeBron James, being who he is, hit some big shots for us," Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said. "He came up with that 50-50 ball and then knocked a three down. I don't coach that. Anybody here can stand on the sidelines and coach that shot or play, but that was just a heck of a play by him."
Yet another big reason why the Cavaliers continue to extend their lead in the Central Division.
Kobe nails OT buzzer-beater
Kobe Bryant with the ball in his hands and a chance to win the game is dangerous. Bryant getting two such chances is as good as a sure thing.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar capped a 39-point night with a turnaround 15-footer from left of the free throw line at the overtime buzzer Wednesday night, lifting his team to a 107-106 victory over a game Milwaukee Bucks squad.
Bryant missed a similar shot at the regulation buzzer, allowing the Bucks to reach overtime with the game tied at 95.
He was only half-joking when he said making the overtime shot was a given.
"Especially because I missed the first one," said Bryant, who scored 42 the night before and was playing his third game with a broken index finger on his right hand. "I had a really good look at that first one, and I wanted to go right back to that same spot and get the same look."
He did exactly that as the Lakers elected to take the ball fullcourt after a timeout with 5.4 seconds left that followed a Michael Redd miss.
The Bucks' Charlie Bell hounded Bryant the entire distance, but Milwaukee did not send a double-team to get the ball out of Bryant's hands.
"I think [Lakers coach] Phil [Jackson] caught them off guard by having us take the ball fullcourt," Bryant said. "I think that threw them for a loop. They probably were expecting us, with 5 seconds, to take the ball at halfcourt, and then they could kind of smother me. But coming from that distance, it's tough."
Bryant's shot spoiled big efforts from Redd, who scored a season-best 25 as he tries to work his way back from left knee troubles, and Ersan Ilyasova, who had a career-high 24 points. But Ilyasova missed a pair of free throws with 58.6 seconds in overtime that would have given the Bucks a six-point lead.
After Luke Ridnour's pull-up jumper gave Milwaukee a 106-100 lead with 1:25 left in overtime, Bryant hit a jumper in the lane with 1:18 left.
After Ilyasova's two missed free throws, Bryant converted a huge 3-point play 10 seconds later that had the Bucks and the crowd of 16,309 howling. Bryant drove the line but ran into center Andrew Bogut. As the whistle blew, Bryant spun and made a short shot.
Referees Joe Forte and Mark Davis conferred, and Davis emphatically signaled a blocking foul.
"That was a huge play ... the charge or block call," Bucks coach Scott Skiles said, trying his best to be diplomatic. "That's a huge play, and if we get that stop right there we're probably in good position.
"It goes against us and then you know that you're probably going right down to the wire. But, again, we had two free throws. We have to knock those down, and then we're probably OK."
Bryant's view was probably a bit different than the Bucks' view.
"I tried to get Bogut leaning and spin back in the lane and draw some contact," Bryant said. "I did, and the shot fell."
After Bryant's 3-point play with 48.6 seconds left, the Bucks came up with a huge offensive rebound when Bell tipped Ridnour's miss out to Bogut near halfcourt, and the Bucks took a timeout with 27.6 seconds left.
With the shot clock running down, Redd missed a runner from the right side of the lane, and the Lakers had one last chance for Bryant.
When his shot swished through without touching iron, the Lakers won their second game in as many nights and their 13th in 14 games to improve to 20-4. The Bucks fell to 11-12.
Pau Gasol had a monster night for the Lakers with season highs of 26 points and 22 rebounds. Ron Artest was the only other Laker in double figures with 10, including a big 3-pointer in overtime.
Bogut added had 16 points and 12 rebounds for Milwaukee but missed a free throw with 20.7 seconds left in regulation that would have completed a 3-point play and given the Bucks a 96-95 lead.
That would have meant Bryant's miss at the end of regulation would have given the Bucks a victory. Instead, it went to overtime and Bryant was the hero again. That allowed Jackson to riff comedic after the game.
"I told him, 'Why did you keep us waiting?' through the whole timeout," Jackson said. " 'You had the same situation in regulation. I mean, really. You wasted a half-hour of our lives.' I don't understand that boy sometimes."
Bryant's teammates have seen such heroics enough that they're no longer surprised.
"He's done it for a very long time and he's done it a couple times this year already," guard Derek Fisher said.

Convention of those wounded in love promulgated by Paulo Coelho
General provisions:
A – Whereas the saying “all is fair in love and war” is absolutely correct;
B – Whereas for war we have the Geneva Convention, approved on 22 August 1864, which provides for those wounded in the battle field, but until now no convention has been signed concerning those wounded in love, who are far greater in number;
It is hereby decreed that:
Article 1 – All lovers, of any sex, are alerted that love, besides being a blessing, is also something extremely dangerous, unpredictable and capable of causing serious damage. Consequently, anyone planning to love should be aware that they are exposing their body and soul to various types of wounds, and that they shall not be able to blame their partner at any moment, since the risk is the same for both.
Article 2 – Once struck by a stray arrow fired from Cupid’s bow, they should immediately ask the archer to shoot the same arrow in the opposite direction, so as not to be afflicted by the wound known as “unrequited love”. Should Cupid refuse to perform such a gesture, the Convention now being promulgated demands that the wounded partner remove the arrow from his/her heart and throw it in the garbage. In order to guarantee this, those concerned should avoid telephone calls, messages over the Internet, sending flowers that are always returned, or each and every means of seduction, since these may yield results in the short run but always end up wrong after a while. The Convention decrees that the wounded person should immediately seek the company of other people and try to control the obsessive thought: “this person is worth fighting for”.
Article 3 – If the wound is caused by third parties, in other words if the loved one has become interested in someone not in the script previously drafted, vengeance is expressly forbidden. In this case, it is allowed to use tears until the eyes dry up, to punch walls or pillows, to insult the ex-partner in conversations with friends, to allege his/her complete lack of taste, but without offending their honor. The Convention determines that the rule contained in Article 2 be applied: seek the company of other persons, preferably in places different from those frequented by the other party.
Article 4 – In the case of light wounds, herein classified as small treacheries, fulminating passions that are short-lived, passing sexual disinterest, the medicine called Pardon should be applied generously and quickly. Once this medicine has been applied, one should never reconsider one’s decision, not even once, and the theme must be completely forgotten and never used as an argument in a fight or in a moment of hatred.
Article 5 – In all definitive wounds, also known as “breaking up”, the only medicine capable of having an effect is called Time. It is no use seeking consolation from fortune-tellers (who always say that the lost lover will return), romantic books (which always have a happy ending), soap-operas on the television or other such things. One should suffer intensely, completely avoiding drugs, tranquilizers and praying to saints. Alcohol is only tolerated if kept to a maximum of two glasses of wine a day.
Final determination:
Those wounded in love, unlike those wounded in armed conflict, are neither victims nor torturers. They chose something that is part of life, and so they have to accept both the agony and the ecstasy of their choice.
And those who have never been wounded in love will never be able to say: “I have lived”. Because they haven’t.

Penn Owns All Lightweight Records after TKO of Sanchez
December 12 – If you listened to some observers, BJ Penn has no cardio, no dedication, and no business being on top of the 155-pound weight class. Well, Penn must be doing something right, because Saturday night before 13,896 fans at the FedEx Forum, the pride of Hilo, Hawaii established himself as the greatest lightweight champion in UFC history with a fifth round stoppage of Diego Sanchez that saw him frustrate, punish, and dominate a talented challenger en route to his record third successful title defense in the main event of UFC 107.
“BJ’s a great champion,” said Sanchez. “I did my best, I didn’t come out on top, but I’ll be back.”
Sanchez’ return is a definite, but for now, the world and the night belongs to Penn, who now owns the following UFC records:
Most successful 155-pound title defenses - 3
Most successful consecutive lightweight title defenses – 3
Most lightweight championship fights won – 4
Most lightweight title fights – 6
Most lightweight championship rounds – 24
Most KO’s in lightweight title fights – 2
Most submissions in lightweight title fights – 2
And he did it with a definitive BJ Penn performance.
After the two circled each other to start the bout, Penn struck first and fast with a thudding right hand that put Sanchez on the canvas. Penn’s follow-up attack was furious, but somehow Sanchez survived and managed to get to his feet. With two minutes gone, Sanchez bulled Penn into the fence, looking for a takedown, but Penn fought it off and broke loose, ready to counter any wild attacks from the challenger, which he did to great effect a few more times before the end of the round.
Penn stalked Sanchez a bit more aggressively as round two opened, allowing Sanchez to get close enough for a takedown attempt. Penn again turned Sanchez away and pecked away every time Sanchez swung and missed. As the round progressed, Sanchez’ lunges and takedown attempts appeared to be getting more reckless, and Penn took advantage of each rush as he put another round in the bank.
Sanchez made every effort to get Penn to the canvas in the first two minutes of round three, but was unsuccessful and the two broke apart and got back to the center of the Octagon. By now, Sanchez was bleeding tom the mouth and the ear, and though he kept trying to get the fight to the mat, it was becoming a losing battle, especially as Penn was doing his best to punish Sanchez at close range during every failed takedown attempt.
At the start of round four, Penn and Sanchez raced to the center of the Octagon and traded blows briefly, with no serious damage being done by either fighter. Sanchez, with a look of determination on his face, was not about to give in, but Penn’s striking accuracy and takedown defense was making it impossible for the challenger to get any sort of offense together.
The final round began with a familiar pattern of Sanchez trying, and failing, to get Penn to the mat in order to mount an attack. Finally, the look on Sanchez’ face began to show frustration, and then a kick to the head by Penn opened up a nasty gash on the challenger’s forehead. With blood covering his face, referee Herb Dean brought in the Octagonside physician, who recommended that the bout be halted. Dean agreed, stopping the fight at the 2:37 mark.
Antidepressant May Change Personality While Relieving Symptoms
Two personality traits, neuroticism and extraversion, have been related to depression risk, according to background information in the article. Individuals who are neurotic tend to experience negative emotions and emotional instability, whereas extraversion refers not only to socially outgoing behavior but also to dominance and a tendency to experience positive emotions. Both traits have been linked to the brain's serotonin system, which is also targeted by the class of antidepressants known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).
Tony Z. Tang, Ph.D., of Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., and colleagues studied the effects of one particular SSRI, paroxetine, in a placebo-controlled trial involving 240 adults with major depressive disorder. A total of 120 participants were randomly assigned to take paroxetine, 60 to undergo cognitive therapy and 60 to take placebo for 12 months. Their personalities and depressive symptoms were assessed before, during and after treatment.
All participants experienced improvement in their symptoms of depression. However, even after controlling for these improvements, individuals taking paroxetine experienced a significantly greater decrease in neuroticism and increase in extraversion than those receiving cognitive therapy or placebo. "Patients taking paroxetine reported 6.8 times as much change on neuroticism and 3.5 times as much change on extraversion as placebo patients matched for depression improvement," the authors write.
The findings provide evidence against a theory known as the state effect hypothesis, which proposes that any personality changes during SSRI treatment occur only as a result of alleviating depressive symptoms, the authors note. Several alternative explanations could be considered. "One possibility is that the biochemical properties of SSRIs directly produce real personality change," they write. "Furthermore, because neuroticism is an important risk factor that captures much of the genetic vulnerability for major depressive disorder, change in neuroticism (and in neurobiological factors underlying neuroticism) might have contributed to depression improvement."
SSRIs are widely used to treat depression, but understanding of their mechanisms are limited, the authors conclude; they have also been shown effective in treating anxiety disorders and eating disorders, conditions for which high neuroticism and low extraversion may also be a risk. "Investigating how SSRIs affect neuroticism and extraversion may thus lead toward a more parsimonious understanding of the mechanisms of SSRIs," they conclude.
The data set of this study came from a clinical trial supported by grants from the National Institute of Mental Health, Bethesda, Md. GlaxoSmithKline of Brentford, England, provided medications and placebo pills.

5 Things That Women Hate in Bed
I believe that none of men could possibly be proud of being called “boring lover”, and none of the women would like spend their lives or even just one night with a “stallion” with such a reputation. Therefore, we are here to help you with a several tips on how avoid such a “label” on your back. Here are five things that women really hate in their sex life:
Don’t be too careful
The phrases like “can I?” are NOT sexy. They just kill the mood. A good lover knows how to let the woman know their next step and how to prepare her for it with no questions asked. Sometimes it is enough just to look in “undressing” way or a provocative touch your girlfriends’ body to give a signal for sex.
“Mechanical sex”
Most women would agree that sex with no passion is boring, just a time spent with no particular reason. No woman wants to become an “inflatable woman” (perhaps only with a very little exception). I’m not saying that every sex you have has to be exclusively tremendous, but just don’t ignore the fact that every woman want to be a “woman” and it's always a good idea to keep that in mind. Be sensitive and sometimes not just have sex, but also “make love” to her.
Monotony
If your girlfriend or wife know every crack in your ceiling – you are in a huge trouble. But don’t panic yet. A simple change of a place will help you out. Try doing it in your bathroom, kitchen, your car or even on a beach (of course find a place with no viewers), the possibilities are endless. Turn on your imagination.
Moaning and talking
Too loud moaning as well as too quiet is irritating for women. The silence is also not an option. You have to play careful here. Try to find the “golden middle” and to express your feelings to your girlfriend but not to all the neighbors. Try not to use all the same words during the sex as well, try to find phrases how to say how sexy she looks, how great she is in bed you don’t have to repeat all the same three words, which we all are so afraid of.
Unwillingness to experiment
If you are in a long-term relationship, don’t be afraid to experiment. Sex life does get boring, and there is a lot you can do about it. Try different positions, role-playing give a freedom to your fantasies. Do whatever you want to if your partner agrees with it, and if it would spice up your love life.
Discuss you fantasies with your partner at the glass of a good wine, and you would be surprised how fast they can turn into reality.
These are the main guidelines how to improve your sex life. What I wanted to say here is that women do not seek Casanova in every man. They just want you to make an effort to your relationship.
Remember that opposite of “boring” is exiting and unexpected, so if you try from time to time to surprise your partner, you will not be in trouble.

9 questions to ask your new lover: what you were afraid to ask, but always wanted to know
1. Do you practice safe sex?
Whether you're having sex with your partner or not, knowing a mate's sexual behavior is a critical component of building a relationship. "If you are having sex now, or plan to in the future, you need to know your partner's sexual habits," says Dr. Durant. "You need to know if your mate uses condoms, and if so, if he uses them with everyone, or just certain people. You need to know if he's gotten anyone pregnant, or if she's terminated any pregnancies. You want to know how many partners they've had. And you want to know if they've ever been HIV-tested, and whether they would be willing to be tested with you." Experts warn singles to beware of the people who are elusive, vague or hostile when discussing their sexual history, as this may be indicative of larger issues.
2. What is your fantasy? Although there is some debate about this question (many critics citing that it redirects efforts outside of the relationship instead of within), others maintain its value depending on the circumstance. "Exploring fantasy depends on how the relationship is moving," says Eric V. Copage, author of SoulMates, An Illustrated Guide to Black Love Sex and Romance. "If it's a relationship that is solely sexual, you can ask it right away. But, if there is more to your involvement than sex, you have to be mindful of the goal of the relationship, and whether or not your partner's fantasies violate those desires. Inquire about the wildest act someone has ever done sexually, and this may give you some insight into his or her willingness or desire to engage in fantasy."
3. Are you in debt? Although it is a sensitive topic, understanding your mate's financial habits, not necessarily how much he or she earns, is essential to the success of a long-term relationship. "Even in the short run, spending habits can be indicators of character, values and personality," says Dr. Paris Finner-Williams, lawyer, psychologist and co-author (along with husband, Robert Williams) of Marital Secrets: Dating, Lies, Communication and Sex. In their book, the Detroit-based couple lists 105 questions for couples to consider before getting engaged. "People often complain about the exact behaviors that they saw before they got married, or before they became seriously involved. But they failed to investigate or ask the pertinent questions in order to truly understand how that person's habits translated into character. We encourage people to go into a relationship with not only their hearts open, but their eyes as well."
4. Why did you break up with your ex? While you don't want to spend your entire date talking about ex-partners, there are advantages to knowing the reasons behind your new lover's break-up, or in many cases, divorce. "I wouldn't recommend it for the first date, but you want to know fairly quickly if you plan to be involved beyond the immediate," says Copage. "Your lover's answer can tell you a lot about them, their character, their tendencies, how they react or overreact to different situations, what their tolerance levels are as well as their quirks." More importantly, if you don't completely address why the past relationship failed, you are likely to duplicate those issues in your current relationship.
5. What is your idea of an ideal mate? Knowing what your potential mate finds attractive is fundamental. "You need to know if you come close to that person's idea of an ideal mate," says Dr. Williams, the Detroit lawyer and psychologist who has counseled singles and couples for over 30 years. "When there is discord, the person will have a tendency to gravitate toward what they are attracted to, and if that image is not consistent with who you are, your new partner may wander off in the direction of that attraction." So, if you are dating someone new, ask that person what his or her "type" is, and how you fit into their definition of desirable.
6. Are you interested in a commitment? If your partner is reluctant to answer this question or wants to refocus the conversation, this person is not ready to make a commitment. "You should understand when you're dealing with someone who is not ready or able to respond to you on that level," says Dr. Durant, who provides telephone-coaching sessions, leading women, step-by-step, through the process of finding the right guy. "If your new lover fails to establish eye-to-eye contact, is offended, evasive or reacts in a behavior that is not consistent with positive communication, this may not be the right time, or the right person for you. Don't try to understand the rejection, just recognize it."
7. Do you have any health issues? Learning the overall health history of your new mate, including his family's medical history, is essential if you're considering a long-term relationship, or if children are involved. Given the health issues in the Black community, genetic compatibility may help determine if this is the right person for you. Ask your new partner about his family's history of cancer, heart disease, sickle cell stroke, or lupus and find out if your lover was born with any indicators of the illnesses. If they do have current health issues, you need to know what treatments they are taking, how the condition affects their diet and nutritional habits and how they plan to deal with their condition in the future.
8. What are your long-term goals? Before establishing a goal for the relationship, it is necessary to define the goals of the individuals, both personally and professionally. "It's not as important to ask specific questions, but to be willing, and able, to communicate your needs and goals to your partner," says Copage, author of Black Pearls: Daily Meditations, Affirmations and Inspiration for African-Americans. "Pay attention to not only what they say, but also what they do." Whatever the goal is, make sure that your partner is taking steps in furtherance of that objective. If your lover is interested in achieving a professional goal, but never takes the initiative to carry it out, the same may ring true in your relationship. However, once you are able to successfully define your individual goals, Dr. Williams recommends a "mission statement" for the relationship; a written agreement between the couple, outlining their desires, their interests and mutual goals for the collective unit.
9. Are you interested in having children? Knowing a person's position on having children, adopting children or accepting a relationship with/children is essential. You can't assume that because you know someone, you can anticipate how he or she will react to issues surrounding parenthood. "You simply cannot guess when it comes to some thing as important as the rest of your life," says Tarrianna Gray, a 30-something single parent in Chicago. "You've really got to get inside someone's head and find out what they really value in life. If children are not a part of his future, and that is important to you, it's better to know sooner than later, it doesn't mean that person is a bad person, it simply means they are not the right one for you."

PS3 Gold 24carat!
If you were to question yourself how much you love your PS3, you would certainly not be able to measure it in a coherent way. In fact, genuine love can never be measured but only expressed.
Well, Computer Choppers have created this amazing limited edition golden PS3 which comes covered in 24k gold. Only 5 of these beauties would be available making them really exclusive. There is also no information about the limited edition golden console but you could rest assured that would also be one of the most expensive consoles you could ever buy.
If you ever get to buy this, you would need to be careful your guests do not walk away with it, as the temptations might be too hard to resist. The strangest part is that it is not just the console that comes covered in gold but also the controller which makes it a really golden opportunity to cease, if you think you have the money to afford something like this.

Does casual sex impact the young adult psyche?!?!?
According to a new study, casual sex does not cause emotional or psychological damage in young people. Do you agree? Illustration: Uttam Ghosh
Researchers at the University of Minnesota have found that young adults engaging in casual sexual encounters do not appear to be at increased risk for harmful psychological outcomes, as compared to sexually active young adults in more committed relationships.
While this study focused on the psychological impact, researchers warned that the physical risks of casual sex should not be overlooked.
Study author Marla E Eisenberg and colleagues used data from Project Eating Among Teens (EAT), an ongoing study that assessed a diverse sample of 1,311 sexually active young adults.
From 2003-2004, 574 males and 737 females in Minnesota with a mean age of 20.5 were surveyed regarding sexual behaviours and emotional well-being.
Of the sexually active respondents, 55 percent reported that their last sexual partner was an exclusive dating partner followed by 25 percent whose most recent partner was a fiance, spouse, or life partner.
Much lower percentages reported that their last sexual partner was a close but not exclusive partner (12 percent) or a casual acquaintance (8 percent). Over twice as many males as females reported that their last partner was casual.
Although there has been speculation in public discourse that sexual encounters outside a committed romantic relationship may be emotionally damaging for young people, this study found no differences in the psychological well being of young adults who had a casual sexual partner verses a more committed partner.
"While the findings from this study show that young adults engaging in casual sexual encounters do not appear to be at increased risk for harmful psychological outcomes compared to those in more committed relationships, this should not minimise the legitimate threats to physical well-being associated with casual sexual relationships, and the need for such messages in sexuality education programmes and other interventions with young adults," Eisenberg said.

MOL Global Pte. Ltd., an affiliate of MOL AccessPortal Berhad of Kuala Lumpur, has agreed to buy the firm that pioneered social networking.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. A published report last week said Friendster was close to a deal worth $100 million with a firm from Asia .
In a press release, the two companies said the combined entity would merge MOL's e-commerce platform with Friendster's social network of 115 million users worldwide.
"The merger with Friendster will continue to transform the social-networking industry," Ganesh Kumar Bangah, MOL president and chief executive, said in a news release.
Friendster, founded in 2002 by computer programmer Jonathan Abrams, was the early king of social networking in the United States, but was eventually surpassed first by MySpace and now by Facebook, which has 350 million members worldwide.
However, Friendster went on to carve its own niche in Southeast Asia, where it has more than 75 million members.
The statement said MOL will take advantage of the brick-and-mortar holdings in the region of its principal shareholder, Tan Sri Vincent Tan, chairman and CEO of Berjaya Corp. Berhad, a Malaysian conglomerate with more than $1.8 billion in annual revenues.
The company said it plans to use those holdings, which include Starbucks, 7-Eleven, Borders, Krispy Kreme, Wendy's and Papa John's Pizza franchises, to extend the reach of social networking in Southeast Asia.

Manny inks deal to fight Mayweather
From yahoo: Manny Pacquiao has officially signed on to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in what could be the biggest and richest fight in boxing history, the Filipino ring icon’s trainer said today.
Speaking to 8CountNews, Freddie Roach confirmed that his ward has indeed placed his signature on the fight contract, adding that the bout will be held on March 13.
“March 13th is the date, that's not going to change,” he told 8CountNews.
The multi-awarded trainer said that with Pacquiao inking the deal, it is now up to Mayweather to complete his end the deal.
“Well anything is possible with Floyd Mayweather involved, but we signed our contract and that's all I care about. There is nothing that I can do about the other guy. I don't know if they officially signed, but we have,” Roach said.
The bespectacled trainer added that among the things that the Pacquiao camp has agreed on were the glove size to be used and the weight class on which the fight would be held. He, however, did not provide further details.
“Everything looks good. We have agreed on the glove size, and the weight. I talked to (Pacquiao’s promoter Bob) Arum, Dallas wants the fight, MGM wants the fight, Yankee Stadium wants the fight, so it's just trying to find out where the venue is. The fight looks good,” Roach said.
And with the fight now closer to being finalized, how does Roach see Pacquiao matching up against Mayweather?
“It's a difficult fight, it's the most difficult style for us to go against because he (Mayweather) is a runner and a counter-puncher. We will go to camp and we will make some changes, we will set traps for this guy. This is completely opposite of the (Miguel) Cotto fight, opposite of the (Ricky) Hatton fight, and opposite from the (Oscar) De La Hoya fight. We will come up with a new game plan, a 10-week camp, and some changes. We will work on setting traps and taking Floyd's speed away from him,” he explained.
A Pacquiao-Mayweather bout would pit two of the best pound-for-pound fighters in their primes. It is expected to shatter existing pay-per-view records, with both fighters having proven themselves to be mammoth box-office draws

Wednesday done! Not quite good..
First, everything went smooth.. I attended my class at 12 then we had lunch at kfc coz birthday ni eril..thanks brad! We visit some babes at ceu (napadaan lang) haha, after that i attend my 430 class and waited for 6pm to start the meeting at topgrill but we ended up in yoohoo because may mga minors daw kaming kasama so umalis na lang kami badtrip pero buti na lang lumipat kami mas nakumura at mas goods ang meeting..but i felt sad kasi di kami masyado nakapag-usap ni babe hindi nanaman ako nakapagload sa sun..ewan ko ba tinatamad ako magload hindi ko feel yung sun haha.. So I end up at home at around 10pm.. While Im on my way home my friend joyce txted me she ask if i can forward the text mesg of my brad to her because of some conflict issues about him.. Then I set a conference in ym to make the issue clear and I end up mad, beacause of the excuses na hindi naman totoo ginagawa kaming gago ng brad namin eh.. But even though he do that I will settle it as a adviser of my frat no choice!! I need to do some DA to straighten him up! Anyways goodtimes! I need a goodvibes later =)

Machine allows people to type with their minds, Findings make up one more step on the road to mind-machine interfaces
By focusing on images of letters, people with electrodes in their brains can type with just their minds, scientists now reveal.
These findings make up one more step on the road to mind-machine interfaces that may one day help people communicate with just their thoughts. Researchers have recently employed brain scans to see numbers and maybe even pull videos from inside people's heads.
The neuroscientists were monitoring two patients with epilepsy for seizure activity with electrodes placed directly on the surface of their brains to record electrical activity generated by the firing of nerve cells. This kind of procedure requires a craniotomy, a surgical incision into the skull.
Lead investigator Jerry Shih, a neurologist at the Mayo Clinic campus in Jacksonville, Fla., wanted to test how well their fledgling mind-machine interface functioned in these patients. He reasoned it would perform better when electrodes were placed directly on the brain instead of when placed on the scalp, as is done with electroencephalography, or EEG.
Most studies of mind-machine interaction have employed EEG, Shih explained.
"The scalp and bony skull diffuses and distorts the signal, rather like how the Earth's atmosphere blurs the light from stars," Shih said. "That's why progress to date on developing these kind of mind interfaces has been slow."
The patients sat in front of a screen that displayed a 6-by-6 grid with a single letter inside each square. Every time a square with a certain letter flashed and the patient focused on it, the electrodes relayed the brain's response to a computer. The patients were then asked to focus on specific letters, and the computer recorded that data as well.
After the system was calibrated to each patient's specific brain waves, when the patient focused on a letter, the letter appeared on the screen.
"We were able to consistently predict the desired letters for our patients at or near 100 percent accuracy," Shih said. "While this is comparable to other researchers' results with EEGs, this approach is more localized and can potentially provide a faster communication rate. Our goal is to find a way to effectively and consistently use a patient's brain waves to perform certain tasks."
Once the technique is perfected, its will require patients to have a craniotomy, although it remains uncertain how many electrodes would have to be implanted. The computers would also have to calibrate each person's brain waves to desired actions, such as movement of a prosthetic arm, Shih said.
"Over 2 million people in the United States may benefit from assistive devices controlled by a brain-computer interface," Shih said. "This study constitutes a baby step on the road toward that future, but it represents tangible progress in using brain waves to do certain tasks."
These patients would have to use a computer to interpret their brain waves, "but these devices are getting so small, there is a possibility that they could be implanted at some point," Shih said. "We find our progress so far to be very encouraging."
The scientists detailed their findings Sunday in Boston at the annual meeting of the American Epilepsy Society.

Another LEBRON show!!!!!!!!
Winter took its sweet time arriving in Milwaukee after a mild November. But there was no mistaking that it reached the fingertips of the Milwaukee Bucks late in the first quarter Sunday at the Bradley Center.
Sure, the defense of the Cleveland Cavaliers had a bit to do with it, but when Milwaukee missed 18 consecutive shots in a span of 11:25 of the first and second quarters, the final 30 minutes were academic in a 101-86 loss to the Cavaliers.
How bad was it? Well thanks to a 29-0 run, the Cavaliers were able to take a 19-point lead (52-32) to the half. And that was after Milwaukee started the game with an 11-0 run.
"For them to jump on us and (for us) to be able to come back and get a win the way we did defensively in the second quarter, I thought we were pretty good," Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said. "Milwaukee missed some shots, but I thought we were contesting and flying around and covering for one another after that initial burst they had."
After their 11-0 opening salvo, the Bucks held leads of 15-5, and led 17-10 after a layup by Ersan Ilyasova with 4:36 left in the first period.
From there, it was a trip into uncharted territories of futility.
When Carlos Delfino scored Milwaukee's next points on a short jumper from the right side of the lane with 5:11 left in the half, it cut the Bucks' deficit to 39-19.
Cleveland closed the first quarter with an 11-0 run, and things just kept going in the second.
Delonte West scored the first 14 points of the second quarter to make the run 25-0, and as Milwaukee kept missing, Daniel Gibson added two free throws and Zydrunas Ilgauskas dropped in a layup that put the finishing touches on turning a seven-point deficit into a 22-point edge.
"I think we had good shots," said Milwaukee guard Luke Ridnour, who was one of the players West abused in his 14-point run. "I think we had good looks and they just didn't go in. I've never seen 18 straight shots missed, but I've seen a lot of times where you miss 10 in a row.
"It's just part of the game. You can't explain it. You've got to give them credit, but at the same time we just missed shots."
With a team-high 21, West led the Cavs' 45-point bench effort. It marked the fourth consecutive game in which Cleveland's reserves topped 40 points.
"Obviously Delonte was good for us off the bench," Brown said. "We were able to play through him for a while."
On the other side, Milwaukee had nothing going. Rookie Brandon Jennings finished with a game-high 24 on 9-for-22 shooting. Delfino and forward Hakim Warrick were the only others in double figures, both with 11.
Ranked fourth in the league in 3-point percentage entering the game, the Bucks kept misdialing from long distance. Milwaukee missed its first 10 3-pointers before Delfino finally connected with 2:45 left in the half as part of a 10-0 run. The Bucks were 1 for 15 on threes at one point before finishing 4 for 20.
"We've been living and dying by the three," Skiles said. "Tonight none of them went in. When they were pulling away we needed to be able to make some plays on one end or the other, and both ends went south on us at the same time."
Even more amazing about the Cleveland run was that it was accomplished with little scoring from LeBron James. In his second game back after missing three weeks with a sprained left foot, Milwaukee's Luc Richard Mbah a Moute hounded James defensively and got plenty of help.
James was more than happy to feed his open teammates. He finished with 10 assists in just 32 minutes but took only 10 shots on his way to 14 points, well short of his 27.9 average entering the game.
His 10 assists marked his fourth straight game with double-digit assists. Not coincidentally, the Cavs (15-5) have won four straight.
"I've always been a guy who gives," James said. "I just take what the defense gives me, and also our guys were knocking down shots. Milwaukee was cautious and not allowing me to get into the paint, so when I did I was able to kick it out to our shooters."
For the Bucks, things have taken a progressively worse turn since an 8-3 start in which Jennings and his teammates took the league by surprise.
Milwaukee has lost three straight and seven of its last eight to fall to 9-10. Things don't get any easier, either, with a trip to Boston on Tuesday.
But the Bucks weren't worried about that just yet as they licked the wounds of a 0-for-18 shooting spell and a 29-0 blitzing.
"The game came down to that run," said center Andrew Bogut, who struggled to seven points on 3-for-11 shooting. "We started off very well and after that we just couldn't hit a shot."

cell phones and brain tumors --> must read!
As cell phones are growing more prevalent—an estimated 270 million Americans now have one—concerns about the health risks of the mobile devices are increasing as well. As Bryan Walsh reported for TIME earlier this year, the growing trend of cell phone use—or, cast in a different light, of holding tiny emitters of low-level radiation up to our heads several times a day—has scientists concerned, to say the least. Yet, according to preliminary research conducted by the Danish Cancer Society, as of yet there's not enough evidence to declare the danger of our devotion to hand-held devices. An analysis of brain cancer cases throughout Scandinavia from 1974 to 2003 found that, trends in tumor rates have been consistent since before mobile phones came into widespread usage.
As the BBC reports, the analysis, which included some 16 million adults between the ages of 20 to 79, found that trends of brain tumor incidence were consistent in the last 10-15 years, when mobile phones came into popularity, with before cell phones first began to emerge. Brain cancers known as gliomas increased 0.5% per year among men, and 0.2% per year among women, and meningioma cancers increased by 0.8% per year among men, and 3.8% per year among women. (The sharper increase among women is largely attributable to the female population between the ages of 60 to 79, researchers say.)
These findings, which expand on previous research that analyzed trends through 1998, don't rule out the possibility that cell phones may have harmful effects evident after more long-term use, researchers say. As Dr. Alison Ross, a senior science information offer at Cancer UK, told the BBC:
"Overall, the scientific evidence tells us that using mobile phones for less than 10 years does not increase the risk of cancer and this large study supports that conclusion... However, brain tumors often take a very long time to develop so we will need to look for any future changes in incidence rates to see if mobile phones could pose any longer-term risks."

Accidents from The Year in Health 2009
Global health experts agonize over the terrible toll disease takes on the world's children, but a lot less attention is paid to how many kids' lives are claimed by accidents and injuries. Part of that is a numbers game: close to 10 million children under 5 die annually of disease. Comparatively few — 829,000 per year — die because of accidents. Still, that's 2,270 children every day. In late 2008 the World Health Organization issued its first annual report on the problem, listing the top five killers and what can be done to combat them:
Traffic injuries: 260,000 deaths per year. In the developed world, most victims are passengers in vehicles; in the developing world, most are pedestrians or bicyclists. The solutions include seat-belt laws, speed limits and stiffer drunk-driving penalties. The key is imposing and enforcing the rules.
Drownings: 175,000 deaths per year. Parental supervision, CPR education and fenced swimming pools are crucial.
Burns: 96,000 deaths per year. Infants are at greatest risk. The danger is lowest for kids ages 10 to 14 and rises for 15-to-19-year-olds — perhaps because of access to fireworks and gasoline. Smoke alarms, parental policing, childproof lighters and burn centers all reduce risk.
Falls: 47,000 deaths per year. Caregiver stress or inattention, nonchildproof environments and low levels of maternal education are risk factors. Solutions include redesigned playgrounds and furniture, parental-education programs and window guards.
Poisonings: 45,000 deaths per year. Kids under 1 are in the most danger. Child-resistant packaging and measures like removing poisons from the house or keeping them locked up can help.

A New Planet-Like Object (cool!!)
Astronomers have been finding planets around distant stars for more than a decade now, and the count is currently around 400. But the vast majority of these so-called exoplanets have been seen indirectly — by their gravitational effects or by the dimming caused when they pass in front of their parent stars. To really understand what a planet is like in detail, you have to see it directly, and that's incredibly hard to do with today's technology.
But an international team has done it. In May and August, using the powerful Subaru telescope in Hawaii, which is equipped with a new, state-of-the art planet detector, astronomers from Japan, the U.S. and Germany snapped pictures of an object they're calling GJ 758 B orbiting a sunlike star called GJ 758, about 50 light-years from Earth and between the constellations Cygnus and Lyra. Scientists have narrowed their estimate of the mass of GJ 758 B to only about 10 to 40 times the mass of Jupiter. If it were more than 13 Jupiter masses, it would probably be considered a brown dwarf, which is a kind of failed star. "We're calling it a planet-like object rather than a planet," says Michael McElwain, a postdoctoral student at Princeton who co-authored the discovery paper for Astrophysical Journal Letters published in November.
It could be a planet, though even if it isn't, there's plenty of reason to be excited. For one thing, astronomers got an image of it. The reason it's so tough to image a planet is its proximity to the blinding light of its star, which in this case is about a million times brighter. It would be like trying to see a candle burning next to the beam of a million-candlepower searchlight. Further, the blurring caused by Earth's atmosphere makes it tough to separate closely paired objects — such as a star and planet — even when they're of equal brightness.
This discovery is part of a five-year planet-hunting campaign designed to solve those problems with four keys: first, the Subaru telescope, which sits at an elevation of nearly 14,000 ft. on the summit of the extinct volcano Mauna Kea and is by itself one of the world's biggest and sharpest telescopes; second, the adaptive optics with which the telescope is equipped, which largely cancel out atmospheric blurring; third, the telescope's top-notch coronagraph filter, which blots out most starlight to remove the glare. And finally, the whole thing operates in infrared light, a type of light that renders planets especially bright and sunlike stars relatively dim. In short, says McElwain, "We're using state-of-the-art instruments on a state-of-the-art telescope."
Even with all that going for them, the discovery came as a surprise, because the instruments were still being tested out. "We were thrilled to see something so early in the process," says McElwain. What's especially thrilling is that GJ 758 B could be as close to its star as Neptune is to the sun — unusual, considering that astronomers had previously believed that large planets formed closer to or farther from their stars, but not in GJ 758 B's location. In the best-case, most optimistic scenario, McElwain says, we might be able to image a Jupiter-mass object about four times farther out than Jupiter is in our solar system.
That's not as good as the ultimate goal: to take an image of a second Earth, in an Earthlike orbit. For that, though, you really need to go into space. But the discovery of GJ 758 B is an extraordinary step, and if the project lives up to its early promise, astronomers will be learning a whole lot more about distant planets in the next few years.

LeBron, Carmelo named Players of the Month
The Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James and the Denver Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Month presented by Kia Motors, respectively, for games played during October and November.
James paced the Eastern Conference in scoring (29.2 ppg), was second in assist (8.0 apg) and added 6.7 rebounds per game, leading the Cavaliers to a 12-5 start. James is one of only two players to record a triple-double this season (Rafer Alston) after recording 23 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists on Oct. 28 at Toronto. With 38 points on Oct. 27, James set a franchise record for points in a season opener and with his seventh point became the youngest player to score 13,000 (24 years, 301 days old). James was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Nov. 23 after averaging a league-high 34.3 points for the week and leading Cleveland to a 3-1 record.
Anthony led the Nuggets to a 12-5 start, averaging a league-high 31.0 points to go with 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals. Anthony scored 20 or more points in each of the Nuggets' 17 games, setting the franchise record for consecutive 20-point performances to start a season (Alex English, 14). On Nov. 27, Anthony scored a career-high 50 points, becoming the seventh Nugget to score 50 or more points and the first since Allen Iverson had 51 on Dec. 5, 2007. Anthony was named the Western Conference Player of the Week on Nov. 2, after leading Denver to a 3-0 start and joined Alex English as the only Nuggets to score 30 or more points in each of the first three games of a season.
Here is a closer look at the month for James and Anthony:
